Warning: 30/10/09 - Financial markets are on alert as a top firm's PC network crashed this week after becoming infected by a clever computer virus.

A group of anti-capitalist campaigners have downloaded an extremely harmful computer virus onto the internet, and one large investment bank was forced to shut down its entire PC network Thursday after becoming infected. The firm's network is likely to be out of action for the next 3 days.

The so-called 'bug bug' starts with just a single insect appearing on one PC screen, and is highly contagious. Within minutes of first contact, an infestation can spread around an entire global PC network and cripple the system.

One IT expert told Here Is The City: 'This is probably the most dangerous threat to PC networks since Y2K. But it can only be downloaded onto a network if employees have been viewing inappropriate content via specific adult entertainment websites on the internet. In other words, it will be brought into the office by a pervert'.

Happy Halloween!
