Here Is The City News and recruitment and HR services group Blomfield has run a poll to find out how happy staff who work in the financial markets are in their jobs. And, it seems, the most satisfied staff in the sector work at Bank of America.

Here are the final results:

37.4% of respondents said that they are 'very satisfied' in their job.

28.6% were 'satisfied'

18.3% felt 'neutral'

15.7% said that they 'hated' their job.

In terms of individual job categories, here's how the final figures came out:

Private Banking - 89.1% of respondents were either 'very satisfied' or 'satisfied'

Marketing - 84.3%

Compliance - 73.7%

Sales & Trading - 72.3%

Corporate Banking - 71.3%

Risk - 69.1%

IT - 67.8%

Corporate Finance - 64.2%

Product Control - 62.7%

HR - 61.2%

Secretarial/PA - 62.3%

Internal Audit - 54.3%

Fund Management - middle/back office - 54.1%

Banking Operations - 51.6%

Hedge Funds - 28.5%

And here are the Top 6 firms in terms of job satisfaction:

1. Bank of America - 90.8% of respondents said that they are 'very satisfied' or 'satisfied' in their jobs

2. Credit Suisse - 78.1%

3. Deutsche Bank - 76.7%

4. ABN Amro - 73.4%

5. UBS - 72.9%

6. DrKW - 71.3%

In addition to coming top of the 'job satisfaction' league table, Bank of America also came top in four of the 10 main individual job categories. Paul Hucknall, Bank of America's Head of Human Resources, Europe & Asia, said 'I am very pleased with this result and am thrilled that our employees have taken the time to express their satisfaction in this way. I believe that this goes a long way to demonstrating Bank of America's commitment to being an employer of choice. However, we will not be complacent. Employee satisfaction and engagement can change quickly. Our focus is to listen to our employees and take appropriate steps to maintain our reputation as a great place to work'. 

Here's a breakdown of which firms have the most satisfied staff in the main job categories:

Banking Operations: ABN Amro - 79.3% of staff who responded said that they were either 'very satisfied' or 'satisfied'

Compliance: Bank of America - 94.4%

Corporate Finance: UBS - 74.3%

Human Resources: Bank of America - 92.7%

IT: Bank of America - 90.3%

Private Banking: UBS - 89.7%

Product Control: Bank of America - 87.1%

Risk: Deutsche Bank - 81.2%

Sales & Trading: UBS - 89.3%

Secretarial/PA: Citigroup - 69.7%
