The heavily employee-owned, US headquartered firm came out top of the 143 companies which accrued votes in the HereIsTheCity 'Best Place to Work in the Global Financial Markets' survey. In the final round of voting, over 86% of Jefferies 2,247 global staff voted for their firm. In total, more than 165,000 votes were cast throughout the survey.
Jefferies Chairman and CEO, Richard Handler, said that 'we are thrilled that our employee-owners voted Jefferies as the best place to work in the industry. Our people are our only real asset, and their dedication, passion and integrity are enabling us to build a very special company for our clients and shareholders.
We still have much work to do in accomplishing our worldwide goals in the middle market, and are continually looking for good partners. If you work at another financial services firm, and want a career at a company where one person can still make a difference, please think of us'.
Jefferies is on track to achieve seven consecutive years of record financial results. The firm has focused on growing and midsized companies and their investors for nearly 45 years, and has worked on corporate finance transactions valued at more than $200bn since 2003. The Jefferies trading / research platform has helped thousands of institutional investors achieve their investment goals, and the firm has also built up a significant asset management business. Jefferies' market capitalization has increased from $500m in 2000 to $4.5bn today.
