Nancy Kissell was sentenced to life in prison in Hong Kong in 2005, after being convicted of the 'milkshake' murder - the 2003 killing of her husband, Robert, who was a senior Merrill Lynch banker.

Mrs Kissel admitted to having laced her husband's drink with a 'date-rape' drug, and belted him over the head with a metal ornament when she discovered that he intended to divorce her over her alleged affair with a TV repair man back home in the US. Well, Mrs Kissel is back in court with her appeal (she always claimed that she killed her husband in self-defense during the argument which resulted in his death), which should conclude early next week.

Bloomberg reports that the findings of a two-week study of 17 London-based traders published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences has revealed that traders who rock up for work each morning with high levels of the hormone testosterone, produced in the testes, will probably make more money that day.

The New York Times reports that billionaire bond trader Bill Gross plans to auction off the Scandinavian portion of his rare stamp collection for charity on May 16th. He donated the $9.1m raised last year by a similar sale to Doctors Without Borders.

Finally, spare a thought for the poor guys in Finance and Risk on the 5th floor of UBS's building at 100 Liverpool St, London. The toilets on the left of the lift are being redone (yes, the firm does have the money for that), and will be out of action for up to a month (gold-plated taps ?). Anyone caught short will have to leg it to the other side of the floor (mind the mice).
