So we thought we'd compile a mid-Credit Crunch league table to ascertain which firms have come out of the market turmoil best so far. We have tried to identify which firms are now considered by existing staff and job seekers as 'hip' or 'in vogue'.
The following league table is based on our current estimates on the following:
1. Job Security (likely job losses due to downsizing and / or possible merger or acquisition)
2. Work / Life Balance
3. Job Satisfaction
4. Compensations / Benefits
5. Overall staff morale (Note morale can still be good despite adversity)
Each firm has been awarded points in each section based on our estimates. And what we have uncovered is a 'New World Order', as most of the large US and European investment banks, usually near the top in these kind of surveys, have been muscled aside by hedge funds, asset / mutual funds firms, boutique investment banks, private banks and private equity firms.
