3. BNP Paribas - $2.34bn profit ($3.06bn profit)

4. Goldman Sachs - $2.09bn profit ($1.51bn profit)

5. JPMorgan Chase - $2bn profit ($2.4bn profit )

6. Fortis - $1.3bn profit ($1.24bn profit)

7. Commerzbank - $1.27bn profit ($434m profit)

8. Credit Suisse - $1.17bn profit ($2.15bn loss)

9. Morgan Stanley - $1.03bn profit ($1.55bn profit)

10. Deutsche Bank - $1.01bn profit ($392m loss)

11. Societe Generale - $1bn profit ($1.71bn profit)

Q2 LOSERS

1. Wachovia - $9.11bn loss ($708m loss)

2. Merrill Lynch - $4.65bn loss ($1.97bn loss)

3. Lehman Brothers - $2.8bn loss ($489m profit)

4. Citi - $2.5bn loss ($5.11bn loss)

5. Dresdner Bank - $870m ($700m)

6. UBS - $329m loss ($10.9bn loss)
