The Daily Mail reports that a pregnant Morgan Stanley director was mugged by a ruthless hoodie close to her $2.3m home in Hampstead, London.

According to the newspaper, 34-year-old Anastasia Bloom, who was 1 week overdue, was injured last week, after she fell on top of her attacker's bicycle. She was rushed to hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries, but hours later gave birth to a healthy baby girl. The hoodie is said to have escaped with a diamond-encrusted pendant. Mrs Bloom's mother also sustained minor injuries in the attack.

Finally, Australia's Daily Telegraph reports that staff at Macquarie Bank in Sydney are said to have bucked the trend and spent up to A$1m ($650,000) on a Christmas party for themselves and guests. The celebration, said to be 'one of the most lavish Christmas parties held in Sydney', started off with a cruise around Sydney Harbour in four chartered boats. The 100 staff and guests are then said to have partied on Cockatoo Island, where promotional girls 'provided alcoholic shots from water pistols', as 'entertainers dressed as gargoyles, ghosts and Harry Potter characters mingled with the crowd'. Nice.
