Victims are said to include 3 widows (one with Parkinson's disease), and her own father. Citi got rid of Ms Moon on learning of her alleged misdemeanors last year, and has since reimbursed the clients.
And Reuters reports that 59-year-old Hassan Nemazee, chairman and CEO of private equity fund Nemazee Capital & Co (and described as a 'major' fundraiser for Barack Obama), has been charged with fraudulently seeking a $74m loan from Citi. He is alleged to have provided the firm with fake references.
Namazee has been released on a $25m bail bond, and confined to his Park Avenue (Manhattan) apartment. He faces up to 30 years in clink if convicted.
Finally, The Daily Mail reports that a Director at accounting firm KPMG found himself in court earlier this week, accused of making false expenses claims to the tune of $890,000 in order to keep his (second) wife happy (and in the style to which she had become accustomed). Fearing divorce, 49-year-old Andrew Wetherall is said to have massaged his expenses by as much as $24,400 a month! When the newspaper tried to contact the current Mrs Wetherall, she was apparently out shopping!
Wetherall has paid back $563,000 to KPMG, which has confirmed that it has now tightened up its expense-claiming procedures.
