Ms Boville apparently alleges that the firm was happy with her relationship with James Nicholson, the founder of hedge fund Westgate Capital, as management thought it might be good for business. It was only after Nicholson was charged with allegedly running a Ponzi scheme, the trader seemingly claims, that the firm tried to disassociate itself from the hedgie, and fired her. A spokesperson for Royal Bank of Canada has said that Ms Boville wasn't fired for having a relationship with Nicholson, but because she helped him with his fundraising, and didn't inform the bank what she was doing.
In the meantime, the trader is also suing the firm for gender discrimination, and Dealbreaker has got hold of some of the accusations allegedly included in the complaint. These include claims that Ms Boville's male colleagues, at various times, suggested that she 'keep (her) guns at bay' (apparently referring to her breasts), advised her to 'Make sure you hide. Don't pick up the phone when I call after three drinks', and remarked 'You should do what you're supposed to, and lie on your back with your legs in the air'. The icing on the cake, however, has to be the claim that one male colleague, allegedly referring to the effect Ms Boville had on his penis, boasted: 'It moved'. Boys will be boys.
