Banker's Banned From 'Tit.y' Restaurant

last updated: 23 July 2007
The New Yorker reports that Wall Street's finest have now been banned from taking clients to Times Square restaurant the Hawaiian Tropic Zone.

It appears that bankers at Citi, Lehman and Morgan Stanley have been told that the restaurant is out-of-bounds as it features waitresses wearing bikinis. Restaurant owner Dennis Riese, no doubt mighty miffed at the prospect of losing such a loyal clientele, told The New York Post that 'we are a totally misunderstood restaurant.....You're never, ever, going to see a girl nude (here).....No nipples'.

Not content to bar bankers from adult entertainment clubs in the evening, investment banks now seem to be extending their ethical entertainment policies to lunchtimes too.

Despite Reise's protests, Wall Street firms want to nip all this sexist stuff in the bud. New York restaurant owners, it seems, will just have to make the breast of it. Mind you, the waitresses won't be best pleased when they lose their jobs as business drops off.

'AHHHH - the new puritans strike again. Business decisions based on the quantitative model used to design 'The Sound of Music' have infiltrated evey facet of our working lives. Where does it stop ? No shagging in the photocopy room ? No naughty consensual late night office liasions ? No Christmas parties ? And what's the problem with the restaurant ? There's no nipples'.
