Cityboy Uncovered - He Worked At.............

Yep, that 'brash, suited FT-carrying idiot' has been outed. Writing this last couple of years for the londonpaper under cover of 'City Boy', he has now revealed his true identity. Cityboy spent the last 8 or so years of his City career at Dresdner Kleinwort, where he was a top-rated research analyst.

Work Info:  1994-6: Secretary at Imperial College, security guard at Wimbledon and import/exporter of 'ethnic good' (e.g. market trader). Research analyst at four different banks (1996-2008). Now... a writer I suppose.

1972 - Born in London, the youngest of three sons of Swansea East MP Donald Anderson and his wife Dorothy

1977 - Attends Fox School in Notting Hill Gate

1981 - Latymer Upper School, Hammersmith

1990-91 - Spends his gap year backpacking in Asia and Australia

1991-94 - Studies history at Queens' College, Cambridge

1994-95 - Another stint in India and seriously considers carving out a living selling ethnic knick-knacks

1995-96 - Studies for his MA at the University of Sussex and produces a dissertation sexily entitled French Workers and Students in May 1968, A Study of an Ambiguous Relationship

1996 - Junior Analyst, Utilities, ABN Amro

1997-99 - Société Générale

1999-2000 - Commerzbank

2000-2008 - Dresdner Kleinwort. Named top stock-picker two years running, his team becomes number two in the utilities sector and City Boy is personally judged the fourth highest-ranked analyst (out of around 100). By the time he resigned from Dresdner Kleinwort, he had become a joint team leader

2008-present - Embarks on a new career as a writer and broadcaster. His book about City life - 'Cityboy: Beer and Loathing in the Square Mile' - is published next week. He is working on a documentary about the City and his new column for thelondonpaper, called Boy in the City, starts next week.

A spokesperson for Dresdner Kleinwort said: 'We don't comment on works of fiction as a matter of policy, but wish Geraint well with his new career'.
