Best Paid US CEOs 2008

The New York Times reports that Sunday Business asked information services firm Equilar to compile and analyze exectuvie compensation data from US corporate filings.

The data includes information for 200 CEOs at companies with annual revenues of $6.3bn or more, and defines total compensation as base salary, discretionary and performance-based cash bonuses, the grant-date value of stock and option awards, and other compensation like benefits and perquisites.

Here's the Top 10 (together with some other interesting entries)

2. Larry Ellison - Oracle, $84.6m

3. Robert Iger - Walt Disney, $51.1m

4. Kenneth Chenault - American Express, $42.8m

5. Vikram Pandit - Citi, $38.2m

6. Mark Hurd - Hewlett-Packard, $34.0m

7. Jack Fusco - Calpine, $32.7m

8. Rupert Murdoch - News Corp., $30.1m

9. David Cote - Honeywell International, $28.7m

10. Alan Lafley - Procter & Gamble, $25.6m
