Not content with raking in £1.1bn in profits for the first half of the year Tesco is expanding in to Microsoft's patch.
The retailing giant will launch 6 software titles later this month offering security/antivirus products, an fully featured office suite, cd/dvd burning tools and a photo management application. They will be sold alonside Tesco branded PC's, which hit the shelves earlier this year. Each software title will cost less than £20 according to Tesco's.

To produce the software Tesco partnered with Formjet who, as well as developing the software, will provide customer support and develop and maintain tescosoftware.com. Formjet themselves currently produce and sell a range of consumer software under their Panda, Ability and FileStream brands.
